Revolutionise Homeless Support

Nobody should be homeless.

Yet in the UK alone, more than a quarter of a million people are.

5% of these are rough sleepers. Others are living in temporary accommodation including b&b's, hostels or are part of the "hidden homeless" who are often sofa surfing and unrecorded.

The UK government spends £1.15 billion a year supporting homeless people, while failing to tap into the talents and work aspirations of tens of thousands of people.

And although passers by want to help, it can be difficult to know what makes a sustainable, significant and long-term impact.

That's where Beam comes in...

Beam is the world's first crowdfunding platform which allows anyone to help a homeless person train up and get into work by donating to their employment training. They support homeless "members" on their journey through industry-recognised employment training and into stable careers.

Since launching in September 2017, Beam have:

  • Raised almost £100,000 so far from crowdfunded donations.

  • Over 30 homeless members on the platform, with 20 campaigns already funded.

  • The backing of the Mayor of London

  • And they have partnered with the UK's leading homeless charities who recommend members to Beam, including Thames Reach, St Mungo's and The House of St Barnabas.

We want to help Beam reach new heights - and to help them bring their message to a wider audience. And ultimately, we want to help them end homelessness.
